2012 Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG.

2012 Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG. As the world's automakers go back to the drawing board on what they need to compete in today's market, both structurally and in terms of product, parts sharing and efficiency are increasingly becoming key concepts. The next-generation of the Mercedes-Benz ML-Class SUV could embrace both concepts with a much closer link to the next G-Class and R-Class (or their successors) as well as more forward-looking powertrains.
Due in the middle of 2011, the next-gen ML is still largely a matter of speculation. Spy shots of an early prototype revealed a smaller body than the current ML, though the wheelbase appears unchanged. These latest shots reveal the high-performance AMG variant in more detail than previous shots.
Almost certain to pick up the performance division’s new twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter V-8, the speedy SUV will be called the ML63 AMG and will likely be launched soon after the standard version next year. The new V-8 engine produces more power and torque than AMG’s current 6.2-liter naturally aspirated mill, with output peaking at 544 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque. However, an available Performance Pack will see output increased to 571 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque thanks to additional boost pressure from the turbos.
Telltale signs that this is the AMG variant are the oversized cross-drilled brakes and dual exhaust tailpipes. Expect a slightly lowered ride height and a sports tuned suspension as well.

Spy Shots: 2012 Mercedes-Benz ML-Class.2.

Spy Shots: 2012 Mercedes-Benz ML-Class. That plug-in hybrid system will draw on elements from the other hybrid programs within Mercedes, including the S400 powertrain. But other elements, including parts and underpinnings, will be shared more closely across the R-Class successor and G-Class vehicles to help achieve economies of scale while still maintaining separate identities. The chassis underpinning the new SUV is also the same design found in the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, one of the lasting legacies from the now defunct DaimlerChrysler.
The ML’s dominant position as the consumer 4x4 of choice within Mercedes' lineup won't change, though the focus will increasingly be on efficiency rather than performance. Accordingly, European models will likely get a 2.2-liter four-cylinder diesel engine rated at 204 horsepower. A V-6 diesel rated at 225 horsepower and a 333 horsepower V-6 gasoline engine is also thought to be in the plans. The V-8 engine will gain direct-injection and twin-turbochargers for the AMG model, which is expected to deliver at least 570 horsepower from its 5.5-liters of displacement. 2012 Mercedes-Benz ML-Class. These newest photos give us one of the best looks at a near-production dashboard and interior that we've seen yet, plus very little in the way of camo on the exterior.
Due in the middle of 2011, the next-gen ML is still largely a matter of speculation. Spy shots of an early prototype reveal a smaller body than the current ML, though the wheelbase appears unchanged. We also have several shots of the interior as well.
A few reports have suggested that a diesel-electric hybrid ML-Class is in the works, although a gasoline-electric hybrid like that in the upcoming ML450 Hybrid is almost certain. A plug-in variant of the ML hybrid is even possible, featuring an 80-horsepower electric motor paired with a twin-turbocharged and direct-injected 3.5-liter V-6 and capable of travelling up to 18-miles on electric power alone is also thought to be in the works.

2009 Mercedes-Benz M Class. MotherProof says, “Like its siblings, the ML320 wins me over in the looks department… The grille is an interesting feature; its hole-punched chrome makes the ML look modern and kind of aggressive. It’s a nice balance with the rest of the car, which is smooth and lean-looking. The ML320 looked like it had a lower profile despite the doors being nice and tall.” Kelley Blue Book remarks that "the sleek 2009 Mercedes-Benz ML looks particularly menacing wearing the new ML550 trim." Other reviews read by TheCarConnection.com agree with this sentiment, praising the aggressive, new AMG-influenced styling of the ML550.

When it comes to the cabin, Edmunds says “the Benz's interior design and quality may be its most outstanding feature. Compared with the rival Lexus RX 400h, the ML320 feels (and is) thousands of dollars more expensive.” The inside styling of the 2009 Mercedes-Benz M-Class is luxurious, but the car's capabilities as an off-road vehicle are not ignored. Kelley Blue Book is quick to point out that the "padded rails at the bottom of the center console...are more of an off-road touch than [they] expect from the more street-friendly" M-Class.2009 Mercedes-Benz M-Class photographed at the...Image via Wikipedia
Mercedes M Class Accessories. 2008 saw the ML550 inserted onto the Mercedes M Class roster and the ML500 dropped. The ML550 churned out 382 horsepower with 391 pounds-per-foot of torque. Other trim/engine levels were left unchanged going into 2009. However, in 2009, the ML320 CDI was replaced by the ML320 Bluetec engine, which was still a 3.0L turbodiesel V6 (rated at 201 hp). For the 2010 model year, a new ML450 Hybrid became available. Using a pair of electric motors and an advanced transmission, the ML450 Hybrid produced up to 335 horsepower and 381 pounds-per-foot of torque. Estimated fuel-efficiency for the model is rated at 21 mpg city/24 mpg highway. Keeping in line with Mercedes' tradition of top-notch safety features, the M Class is equipped with standard antilock brakes, traction control, stability control, hill descent/ascent control, and a full layout of airbags. In 2008, the Mercedes M Class received five-start scores in both side-impact and frontal crash tests.

When you judge an SUV, you normally look at a few specific traits: passenger room, cargo space, interior comfort, and wheelbase. With a Mercedes, you have to raise your standards accordingly. The M Class doesn't disappoint in any department. This fashionable crossover has the space to fit five or seven comfortably with enough room to stow whatever extras you need to bring along the way. Drivers always talk about the hungry performance that just "zooms" out at you, which is another reason why it's so beloved. But the sleekly styled exterior doesn't hurt, either.

Mercedes M Class Accessories.

The 2009
Mercedes-Benz M-Class doesn’t get a complete redesign, just a few nips and tucks here and there that altogether give it a slightly fresher look. The 2009 Mercedes-Benz M-Class has gone from brickbats to bouquets. Back in the late '90s, the car featured what Car and Driver describes as "minivan-like styling." In 2009, Mercedes-Benz combats that image by sharpening the exterior lines and imparting a certain degree of toughness to its luxury SUV, resulting in "more aggressive styling," according to Edmunds.
The Mercedes M class is a luxury midsize crossover SUV that premiered in 1997 for the 1998 model year and is credited for being one of the very first in its segment. Capable of seating either five or seven passengers (with an optional third row seat), the vehicle is also recognized for its high level of comfort and top-quality Mercedes-brand performance. It is noted as the first luxury SUV to showcase stability control, as well. At its launch, the Mercedes M Class was

offered in the US as the ML320 and equipped with a 3.2L V6 engine. As for the model's dimensions, the ML320 measured in with a wheelbase of 111 inches, a width of 72.2 inches (AMG- 74.6 inches), a height of 69.9 inches (AMG- 69.3 inches), and an overall length of 180.6 inches (AMG- 182.5 inches). Awards came quickly for the Mercedes M Class, as it was named Motor Trend magazine's Truck of the Year (1998) and the North American Truck of the Year (1998). For the M Class's second year on the road, a 4.3L V8 (ML430) joined the lineup. Mercedes M Class Accessories

The ML55 AMG was introduced in 2000 and a year later, the Sport Package was added. For 2002, the ML430 was replaced by the ML500, which showed off a 5.0L V8 engine capable of 288 horsepower. Exterior changes were made, including new bumpers, headlights, and side-mirrors. Automatic climate control became standard also. In 2003, the navigation system was updated to DVD but the model saw few updates overall until the end of the year, when the ML350 slotted in and took over for the ML320. The ML350 sported a larger 3.5L V6 engine good for approximately 230 horsepower. The ML55 was removed altogether from the lineup. 2005 did not bring on any major alterations to the M Class, although Mercedes began offering a new Special Edition Package. While there may not have been a host of changes throughout the last few years of the model's first generation, the M Class was given a hefty redesign heading into 2006. Representing the second generation of the vehicle, the ML350's engine got a boost up to 268 horsepower while the ML500's configuration saw its number climb up to 302 from 288 horsepower. 2007 brought on similar attributes for the trim levels and a new one, the ML320 CDI, offered a 3.0L turbodiesel V6. Both the ML350 and ML500 were equipped with the same configurations from the previous year. The bold ML63 AMG appeared for the first time in the M Class and was outfitted with a 6.3L V8 that pumped out an impressive 503 horsepower with 465 pounds-per-foot of torque.

Mercedes Accessories Representing the very finest of German luxury, Mercedes offers a well-rounded lineup of elegant yet reliable cars, SUVs, trucks, and buses. Mercedes models are consistently lauded for their high-quality materials, safety features, and quiet yet powerful performance. The company traces its roots back to 1886, when Karl Benz oversaw the development of the Benz Patent Motor Car, a three-wheeler recognized as the world's first motorcycle. Gottlieb Daimler and engineer Wilhelm Maybach are credited with producing a four-wheeled automobile just several months later using a Daimler engine. By the dawn of the twentieth century, the newfound company's first car was manufactured, taking the name of distributor Emil Jellinek's daughter, Mercedes. In 1926, Daimler-Benz AG was formed, giving birth to Mercedes- Benz. One of the first models produced by the automaker was the SSK in 1928, a fast-paced roadster capable of hitting 120 mph. On its heels was the 770, a luxury sedan equipped with an inline eight-cylinder engine and best known for its role as a parade car for the Nazi party during World War II. Mercedes Accessories.

1954 welcomed in the 300SL "Gullwing", a Mercedes classic. The Mercedes 300SL was initially offered as a two-seat sports car and featured fuel-injection, a single overhead camshaft, a four-speed manual transmission, and of course, gullwing doors. One of Mercedes' most talked about models, the 600, would appear in 1963. The 600 was classified as a full-size limousine and featured a power glass partition that could be employed between the front and rear seats. It was favored by many Hollywood-types for its exclusive presence. Also debuting in 1963 was the

W113 Pagoda S Class. Although the '60s showcased Mercedes' strengths, the company would see a slowdown. The oil crisis had dug its heels in on the auto industry hitting manufacturers across the board, even Mercedes, despite the success of the 350SL and the introduction of the 450SEL 6.9, a sporty, high-performing version of the S Class. Mercedes rolled out the G Class in 1979, a rugged crossover wagon assembled for militaristic utility but available as a consumer vehicle.
